Professor Sir Hiliary Beckles has transformed and continues to do great things at the Cave Hill institution.
Barbados, Bridgetown - The University of The West Indies at the Cave Hill
Campus has reported that demand for placement of medical students at the higher
education institution is high.
The Principal of the university, Sir Hiliary Beckles has said
that the university has received over five hundred applications
from all over the world for persons wishing to enroll in the
Faculty of Medical Sciences.
This demand has set the university in the direction of of
creating more dorms at the institution.
"Beginning this summer, we are going to be building new
dormitories in the Lazaretto Area in Black Rock, St Michael," he
said.
Professor Beckles had a word to say about the amenities fee
which was instituted under his tenure. He mentioned that the fee
which is asked of students attending the campus allows for about
two million dollars to be given to the student body.
The Two million dollars has seen the installment of a playing
field at the campus and now allowed for the building of a day
care facility for students who are also parents.
