Freemasonry in Barbados seems to be thriving all over the land. (Please note that I am ignorant of the craft of freemasonry, but I'm sharing my limited thoughts on what is blaringly apparent).
The Masonic Lodge in Barbados has recently built a high end Masonic lodge in St. George, which has the appearance of the White House in Washington D.C.
No longer is the lodge in Barbados in unmarked buildings, but are flaunting their intersecting symbols high above us, in the St. George valley for all to see.
Once before one would only come to the realization of a lodge if someone informed you in probably hushed tones, because of fear, "tha isa lodge".
This is no longer the case here in Barbados, the symbols of the compass and the square are high on the building for all to see.
Many members of these organisations are wearing the watches, rings, chains, and on every road in Barbados is a vehicle flashing the symbols.
Even the city has an obelisk, and the eight step path to enlightenment being faced by the Lord Admiral Nelson himself, who is touted in some areas of the internet as having been a mason. So the discussions will continue here in Barbados every year, as to whether this statue will be moved but is highly unlikely.
A few years ago I attended a lecture at the Grand Salle of the Central Bank, where the Masonic Lodge in Barbados was invited to speak on the 375 years of the city of Bridgetown (i believe it was - Beyond the Bridge: A Series of Lectures to Commemorate the 375th anniversary of Bridgetown). There I came to the realization that the lodge has penetrated many families at all levels of society.
This was not said, but one can tell from the members of the audience who attended, that they were probably members because of the response the lecturer got from them, on statements which flew right over my head.
Many are joining these fraternities in order to harness "wisdom" and power (influential I hope), and are being mislead. There is no such thing as something for nothing, and as wise people always say, there is no such thing as a free meal.
Persons joining these organisations are not only putting themselves in danger when they become members, but are also putting their families in danger due to the god(s) they serve in these organisations.
As the God I serve is not one of secrets, because he is willing to embrace all mankind with no strings attached. I know the god(s) of the Masonic lodge, is not that same God.
To those who are contemplating joining, and I have had some friends who told me blatantly they were going to join, and I tried to convince them otherwise, going on the simple premise that an organisation which has a secret which no one would dare reveal for thousands of years, is not an organisation to be a part of no matter how much gold and silver it can offer, because as King Solomon himself declared, seeking these things is all vanity.
Ecc 2:11 Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.
What is needed in Barbados is for the Church which has a more solid foundation in Jesus Christ, to take a leaf out of the book of the masons, and be proud of themselves, and to show the world that we are the true light which is in this world, but not of this world.
my take on this is, if its of good why is it hidden... despite the folley that happens in the churches today does not make freemason an acception in my opinion... Christ never asked us to make sacrifices to be a part of Him so why should someone or something that has never birthed life to anyone demand that much... i firmly stand on God

Hi Frank, I do concur with you that some have used the banner of Christianity to seek their own gains, and it continues today in some cases, but all persons should not be placed in the same boat. I am sure you would agree that a butcher's knife in the hand of a serial killer is a different kettle of fish to that in the hand of a butcher.
With regards to your other point some may believe that Christianity is a measure to control the masses (I will not speak on other religions) , but Christians choose to eat from the table of one God who has set certain priciples for succesfull living.
You would agree that the western world which has implemented laws (these laws are currently being eroded - homosexuality, abortion etc) based on some of these standards, have done relatively well over the years. The majority of unrest in the world today can be seen in the eastern blocks of the world who for the most part follow other gods.
Freemasonry allows it members to eat and drink at the table of any god, hence memebers are willing to sell the livelihood of their offspring for their own gains. Since atrocities are not your cup of tea, I don't think you should agree with their actions.
Frank, the real control comes in when persons join freemasonry which chains you with oaths at the detriment of yourself and family members.
In the Bible Adam and Eve were fooled by the devil who told them God was trying to prevent their eyes being opened, and that in fact they can become gods. They sought the enlightenment the devil was offering. How has it profited them?

as for homosexaulity there are more homosexuals in the church than anywhere else look at the scandal with the roman catholic churchall the abuse claims that go unanswered no one is held accountable for these actions performed by so called men of the cloth...
if the pursuit of gold and silver be against god then why do pastors and priest look to their congregation to fill their goffers with money every single sunday STOP fooling your selfs and stop fooling the general public those who seek true enlightenment seek those who do not want to be enlightened walk blindly we all have choices....
Frank, there is nothing wrong in having, nor seeking gold and silver, but it should not be at the cost of one's soul, and family.
I recently attended a church service where a prophet prayed for members whose great grandfathers and grandfathers etc were members of Lodges. These persons exchanged the health of their offspring for certain benefits of being in the Lodge.
We have a lot of sickly people walking around the place not knowing that family members have sold them out for power etc.
It is very sad, but freemason been in Barbados since the 1800 hundred, and Barbadians are very happy with it, as some one said go on the website and key in skull and bones or acult,,,one of the best site to visit is Freemason for Jesus or for Christ,...any one who is a freemason is serving SATAN AS GOD....one day the botton will drop out the bucket, and bajans will know for sure that God is God and he sure aint no bajan...so stop fooling yourself about freemason, and accept JESUS as you Lord and Saviour. BEFORE IT IS TO LATE, AND FIND OUT IF YOU PRIEST PASTOR ETC IS A MASON, and come out from among them Bajan for Jesus
