The year 2015 thus far has witnessed a surge in road vehicular accidents in Barbados. It is now common on a daily basis to be informed of accidents on our roads and the need to divert.

Most of these accidents have not been fatal, but many have had to be removed from their vehicles by the "jaws of life".

This is issue seems quite strange as it has started suddenly in 2015. One would like to urge the Christian churches to involve themselves in praying for the safety of our motorists and our roads.

According to Minister of Transport Michael Lashley, amendments are expected to go to Parliament shortly for approval of changes to Barbados' Road Traffic Act which will deal with problems such as "wheelies" and other stunts performed by motorcyclists as well as distracted driving.

The Barbados Road Safety Awareness Community has compiled so of the accidents via their Facebook page.
