Predictions of the end of the world has again raised its ugly head, as some try to invoke fear in order to get persons to join their fanatical organisations. These person claim to be Christians, but have no idea what the bible says on the matter, or just simply chose to ignore it, in preference to their own agendas.
The bible has been quite clear on this matter in a dialogue between Jesus and his disciples, who at that time asked Jesus when will be the time of the end. Jesus responded that no man, the angels, not even himself except the Father, knows when the end will be. Jesus also warned in that passage of scripture that many would come in his name, and deceive many, but he warned to be careful.
In 2011 we are again faced with some coming in the name of Jesus calling themselves Christians, teaching things the bible itself has not spoken, inciting fear in persons, at the same time discrediting Christianity, since this end will not occur as predicted.
According to Harold Camping, a Christian fundamentalist radio host of the Family Radio Network in Oakland, California the world will come to an end on May 21st 2011, but will it? Camping has concluded that the world will end 7,000 years after the Great Flood, and by his calculations "based on the bible", that is May 21.
This ridiculous idea has gained momentum as it is spreading around the world as persons here in the Caribbean have been handing-out fliers about the dooms day coming May 21.
