Dr. Ralph Gonsalves' ULP Party Secures Third Term

The ruling Unity Labour Party (ULP) of Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) has secured a third consecutive term in government, and performed a hat-trick in the 2010 elections

Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to complete a hat-trick with a 2010 election win

St. Vincent and the Grenadines -- The ruling Unity Labour Party (ULP) of Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves won an historic third consecutive term (hat-trick) against the main opposition New Democratic Labour Party (NDP) in the December 13th, 2010 general election.

Mr. Gonsalves, 64, had called the elections nearly four months ahead of schedule time of elections, but was able to conquer 8 of the available 15 seats.

The 2010 election results seem to have shown that the ULP has loss some of the interest of the people of that nation having securing 12 of the 15 seats in the last election held in 2005 and 2001, whilst the NDP secured the other 3.
