Osama bin Laden, the alleged mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks in the United States of America, which claimed the lives of many innocent individuals is being reported to be dead. Osama bin Laden is said to have died after an encounter with United States forces in Pakistan on May 1st (May Day).

"I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda, even as we continued our broader efforts to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat his network," Obama has said, in a media briefing on Sunday night in the east-wing of the Whitehouse, following the capture-death.

"For over two decades, bin Laden has been al Qaeda's leader and symbol, and has continued to plot attacks against our country and our friends and allies. The death of bin Laden marks the most significant achievement to date in our nation's effort to defeat al Qaeda," Obama also said.

Osama bin Laden's Body Buried at Sea

In keeping with the Islamic customs of the decease, the remains are said to have been speedily buried. The burial at sea has left some wagging their tongues on the internet, as this might not be a Islam tradition, unless it was not possible to bring the body from the sea, at the time of death. Some sea burial was taken in order to avoid a memorial site for Jihadists.
